Pakistan continues to face an intense heatwave, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reporting feels-like temperatures above 50°C in six major cities on June 30, 2026.
According to PMD’s 2:00 PM (PST) observations, Sargodha recorded the highest heat index at 54.3°C, placing it in the “Extreme Danger” category where heat stroke is considered imminent.
Sukkur followed with a feels-like temperature of 52.7°C, while Faisalabad reached 51.6°C. Dadu recorded 50.4°C, Peshawar 50.3°C, and Islamabad 50.1°C.
Lahore also experienced severe conditions with a feels-like temperature of 49.5°C, followed by Sialkot at 48.0°C, Multan at 47.9°C, and Karachi at 40.6°C.
The PMD advises people to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and remain alert for signs of heat-related illnesses.
Children, older adults, and individuals with underlying health conditions are particularly vulnerable to extreme heat.
Authorities urge the public to follow official weather updates and take precautionary measures as high temperatures continue across much of the country.
