Two Karachi-born hockey players, Arif Siddiqui and Parvez Iqbal, have been selected to represent the United States at the upcoming Masters Hockey World Cup 2026 in the over-65 category.
The tournament will be held in the Netherlands and Belgium later this year, featuring 120 teams from 23 countries across six age categories.
The event is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 16 across four cities in the two European countries.
Both players have deep links with Karachi and bring years of experience at the international and masters level. Their selection is being seen as a proud moment for Pakistan’s hockey community, as well as a major achievement for the players in their adopted country.
Arif Siddiqui has previously represented the United States, including in 2024. He also played for Pakistan at the Masters Hockey World Cup in 2014, underlining his long association with the sport at the international level.
Parvez Iqbal, who has also represented Pakistan in international matches on several occasions, will be making his first Masters Hockey World Cup appearance for the United States.
Members of the hockey community have welcomed their selection, calling it recognition of the talent, experience and hockey culture developed through Pakistan’s rich tradition in the sport.
