The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced the appointment of renowned Dutch coach Herman Kruis as the National Hockey Coaching Advisor for the men’s team.
According to the federation, Kruis has been appointed for an initial two-year engagement. He is a highly respected Dutch hockey coach and high-performance expert with decades of international experience.
As coaching advisor, Kruis will guide the PHF in strengthening Pakistan’s hockey ecosystem. He will work closely with the senior and junior national teams and assist in building modern coaching and player development systems.
The PHF said Kruis will also help establish a sustainable high-performance framework for Pakistan hockey. His role will include providing technical guidance while working alongside specialist coaches in different disciplines.
In addition, Kruis will contribute to the development of Pakistan’s overall hockey infrastructure, coaching pathways and talent identification programs.
The federation said Kruis will join the national team at the start of the upcoming FIH World Cup. During the event, he will work alongside the coaching staff as part of a transition period.
After the World Cup, Kruis will formally lead the planning and preparation of Pakistan’s senior and junior teams for major international competitions, including the Asian Games and other international events.
The PHF described his appointment as the first step in a series of international technical engagements planned under its wider strategy to revive Pakistan hockey.
The federation also said more world-class specialist coaches and technical experts will be announced in the coming months.
