HEC Announces SNU President Fellowship Scholarships in South Korea for Pakistanis

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a new scholarship opportunity for Pakistani faculty members who want to apply for the Seoul National University (SNU) President Fellowship Program for the Spring 2027 intake in South Korea.

According to the announcement, the fellowship is offered by Seoul National University, Republic of Korea, while HEC is only advertising the opportunity received through official diplomatic channels. The application window is very short and will remain open from 6 July 2026 to 9 July 2026.

The program is designed for university teaching and instructional staff from developing countries who do not already hold a PhD degree and want to pursue doctoral studies at SNU.

Who Can Apply

The scholarship is aimed at Pakistani faculty members serving in universities or higher education institutions.

Applicants must be teaching or instructional staff members of a university in a developing country and should not already have a PhD degree.

They must also hold a master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution and apply for admission as a PhD student at Seoul National University for the Spring 2027 semester.

Eligible Positions

SNU recognizes applicants as teaching or instructional staff if they are employed to teach academic courses or conduct academic research.

Eligible positions may include:

  • Professor
  • Associate Professor
  • Assistant Professor
  • Research Professor
  • Lecturer
  • Instructor
  • Teaching Assistant
  • Research Assistant

Other similar positions may also be considered if the applicant can provide valid employment proof showing teaching or research duties.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected candidates may receive several benefits under the SNU President Fellowship Program. The scholarship benefits include full tuition fee support for six semesters, a monthly stipend of KRW 1,500,000 to KRW 2,000,000 for three to four years, round-trip economy-class airfare, Korean language training during regular semesters, national health insurance support, and childcare support where applicable.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit the online SPF scholarship application through the SNU Office of Admissions during the admission application period.

Candidates must also select the “Application for Scholarship” option while completing the admission application.

Applicants should carefully read the official SNU guidelines and prepare all required documents before submitting the application.
