Pakistan is set to get its own football festival during the FIFA World Cup 2026 with the launch of the inaugural Lifebuoy Football Championship in Karachi.
The first-of-its-kind tournament will be held at the iconic Lyari Kakri Ground from July 8 to 19, featuring 16 local teams competing for the championship title.
The event aims to provide a competitive platform for grassroots footballers while celebrating Lyari’s long-standing football culture, where the sport has remained a major part of community life for generations.
To add to the excitement, the Semi-Final and Final match days will also feature live screenings of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Semi-Finals and Grand Final.
Fans will first watch the Lifebuoy Football Championship fixtures before gathering for the World Cup screenings, turning Lyari Kakri Ground into one of Karachi’s key football destinations.
Organized in collaboration with Sports in Pakistan, the championship looks to celebrate Pakistan’s football heritage, inspire young athletes, and strengthen community engagement through the sport.
The tournament will bring together local players, passionate supporters, families, and football fans as Lyari hosts a historic celebration of Pakistan’s football passion.
