Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra2 has appeared in new official-looking renders ahead of the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22.
The images were shared by known leaker Evan Blass and show Samsung’s next rugged smartwatch from multiple angles. The watch is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Watch9, and other new devices. Samsung’s Unpacked event is scheduled for July 22 in London.
The leaked renders suggest Samsung is keeping the same broad design language as the original Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The watch still has a rugged body, a circular display inside a squircle-style frame, and a side button layout similar to the previous model. However, the design appears to include small refinements rather than a complete redesign.
The frame is reportedly made of titanium, keeping the Ultra model positioned as Samsung’s premium rugged smartwatch.
The leak claims the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will be 12 percent thinner than its predecessor.
The original Galaxy Watch Ultra measures 12.1mm thick, so a 12 percent reduction would put the new model at roughly 10.6mm. The watch is also tipped to feature a display with up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, which would improve outdoor visibility.
The leaked renders also point to a major internal upgrade.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. The watch is also tipped to pack an 800mAh battery, a major increase over the 590mAh battery used in the first Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The larger battery, combined with a newer chipset, could help Samsung improve battery life, although real-world endurance will only be clear after launch.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is also expected to carry an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance.
That rating would improve protection against high-pressure and high-temperature water exposure compared with standard IP ratings. The leaked materials also mention titanium construction, 10ATM water resistance, and sapphire crystal protection.
Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy Watch Ultra2’s final specifications yet.
For now, the 800mAh battery, Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, 5,000-nit display, thinner body, IP69K rating, and titanium frame remain leaked details. Samsung is expected to reveal the final hardware at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22.
