Today, Apple finally revealed a much awaited refresh of the MacBook Air. Cupertino was keen to point out that it’s made of 100% recycled aluminium, not something you normally see in a mainstream high-end laptop.
For the uninitiated: MacBook Air is a line of ultra-slim Apple laptops that come with some of the best hardware. So, without further ado, let’s dive in and see what the new MacBook Air has to offer.
Design
MacBook Air 2018 features a 13.3 inch Retina display, with 50% smaller bezels than the MacBook Pro. It goes nearly edge-to-edge, giving off a Dell XPS-series vibe.
It’s also slightly lighter than the previous model, at 2.75 pounds (~1.24 KG) and comes in three different color variants, gold, space grey and silver.
The new MacBook Air also has an HD Facetime camera at the front for group facetime calls as well as a triple mic array for better voice recognition with Siri. It also includes TouchID for instantly locking your MacBook and to make secure purchases online.
The stereo speakers are also louder and punchier than before with upto twice as much bass output (according to Apple).
Hardware and Connectivity
On the hardware front, the new MacBook comes with an 8th Gen Intel Core-i5 processor along with up to 16 GB RAM and 1.5 TB of SSD storage. It also features a T2 Security Chip that also allows the SSD to encrypt your data on the fly, keeping everything secure. Apple claims that the SSDs in the new MacBook Air are 60% faster than before.
The new MacBook Pro has two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack (surprisingly).
Battery and Price
Apple is promising a 12 hour battery life with the MacBook Air 2018 “during wireless web use”. It starts at $1,199 for the base model with 8 GB RAM and a 128GB SSD drive, and will be available from November 14th.

still overpriced trash
Overpriced, true! But trash?
yeah pathetic weak dual core and 128gb SSD for 1200 it is trash
Apple doesn’t follow the hardware specs. The price is what Apple promises to deliver. Their dual core is better than any other quad core PC laptop. Their latest hardware is nowhere near on the paper but as per performance, it is a beast! As I said, don’t follow the specs bro.
No it isn’t I have used macbook pro and it is pathetic slow trash
@disqus_yXgF4RtrBR:disqus hehehehehe
There so many cheaper but far better alternatives are available in market. Microsoft and Hp spectre are far better than in less price. However you are Apple “logo” lover than give extra bucks for that rotten apple
