Google Maps is Rolling Out a Feature for Accident & Speed Trap Reporting

Since last year, Google has been testing a Waze-like accident and speed traps reporting feature on Google Maps and the company is about to roll it out globally.

Now Google Maps users will be able to see a new button in navigation mode that will allow them to report accidents and speed traps. Initially, users could only report accidents or speed traps if there had been similar reports on your navigation route but the company has tweaked and improved this feature by adding a button to report such incidents.

The feature hasn’t been announced by Google as of yet and the company hasn’t announced a launch date; although, the feature is available for a select few Android users but sadly, it is enabled remotely; meaning that even installing the latest version of Google Maps confirm its availability right away.

shouldn’t it be “meaning that even installing the latest version of Google Maps DOES NOT confirm its availability right away”?

    • Yes Sir, even if shows it would be trail and error. This is based on geography/location of your device to their preference of facilitating the region. We need it badly for humanitarian reason of Road Accidents with our traffic enforcements are not enabled for scientific analysis of the accident. There’s a need for an alternative vendor which will provide accurate analysis/forecast of happenings around and the archives of the happened events to asess the cause.
