Federal Education Minister Hints at Online Exams for Students This Year

Federal Education Minister, Shafqat Mahmood, has hinted at the possibility of conducting online exams this year due to the unprecedented situation resulting from the Coronavirus pandemic.

Taking to Twitter, Shafqat Mahmood noted that decision to hold online or on-campus exams is the prerogative of the universities.

However, the Minister has asked HEC to consult with VCs of all universities to see if it is possible to conduct online exams considering the extraordinary circumstances due to the pandemic.

He added that universities must assess whether they possess the technical capacity to hold online exams for all students and ensure that students do not misuse the online exam system to get easy grades.

Note that the students have been protesting across the country as part of their effort to convince the government to hold online exams this year and save their academic year.
