It has been 6 years since we last saw Earth’s mightiest heroes assemble for an epic showdown. Now, with Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Marvel Studios unveiled its cast for Avengers: Doomsday. However, several fan-favorites seem to be missing from the lineup.
Here are 10 Avengers who seem to be missing from the Avengers: Doomsday cast.
Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man)
The MCU’s golden goose is nowhere to be seen. With Spider-Man: No Way Home being one of Marvel’s few post-Endgame hits, his absence is surprising. Perhaps Peter Parker’s memory-wiping dilemma explains why he’s sitting this one out.
Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange
The multiverse’s go-to guy is missing, despite Doomsday leaning heavily into multiverse chaos. Maybe he’s still off gallivanting with Clea, but his absence feels like a missed opportunity.
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool
With the X-Men making their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut, you’d think Deadpool would join the party. But it seems Wade Wilson is still busy with Logan after their Deadpool & Wolverine adventure.
Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel
Iman Vellani won the hearts of fans worldwide as the youngest superhero in the Disney+ series. It seems like Kamala didn’t get permission from her parents to join the Avengers after her adventures across space in The Marvels.
Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector/Moon Knight
Another big name missing is Oscar Isaac as the dangerous Moon Knight. Perhaps due to the anti-hero nature of his character, not to mention his violent tendencies, the Avengers aren’t too keen on bringing him on board.
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
An Avengers movie without Hawkeye? It just doesn’t feel right. The salt-of-the-earth archer deserves a spot on the front lines.
Chris Pratt as Peter Quell/Star-Lord
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 post-credits scene teased Star-Lord’s return, but apparently, he’s too busy mowing his grandpa’s lawn to join the Avengers.
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Hulk’s brains and brawn are always a staple of Avengers movies, but he’s sitting this one out. Maybe he’s off-planet with his son, Skaar.
Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine
With so many X-Men joining the cast, Logan’s absence is baffling. Sure, he just starred in Deadpool & Wolverine, but leaving out the most iconic mutant feels like a missed opportunity.
Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
Fans hoped Wanda would return after her Multiverse of Madness demise, but it seems Marvel is holding off on her resurrection—for now.
While Avengers: Doomsday boasts an impressive cast, these omissions have left fans scratching their heads. Here’s hoping some of these heroes make surprise appearances when the film hits theaters on May 1, 2026.
