Bollywood’s Swara Bhaskar Demonstrates Her Support For Kashmir

She’s not in favor of what Modi government is doing.

The government of India’s latest decision regarding Kashmir has prompted severe backlash not just globally but in some parts of the country as well. Bollywood celebrities such as Dia Mirza and Zaira Wasim have expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

“My thoughts are with #Kashmir. Praying for peace ?? #KashmirNeedsAttention,” Dia Mirza tweeted.

Others including Anupam Kher and Kangana Ranaut have lauded the Modi government’s decision.

Swara Bhaskar Feels for Kashmiris

Now, Indian actress Swara Bhaskar has also voiced her support to Kashmiri people against the atrocities of Indian government in the valley.

An Indian journalist tweeted news about the controversy sparked by an Indian politician’s statement where he claimed that Indians can now “get girls” from Kashmir.

Swara Bhaskar lashed out at the politician’s and termed his statement as “disgusting lack of decency and humanity”.

Swara also came out in support of another female journalist Mahrukh Inayet, who had been unable to get in touch with her mother following the Indian government’s decision on Kashmir.

“Day 3: It’s been 72 hours since I spoke to my mother. #Kashmir,” Mahrukh Inayet wrote.

The actress shared her sympathies with her and replied “Heartbreaking” to her tweet.

Indian occupied Kashmir has been in state of curfew for the last few days and people outside Kashmir have been unable to reach out to their families stranded in valley.

In response to India’s decision, Pakistan has decided to expel the Indian High Commissioner from the country and call back Pakistani High Commissioner in India. Moreover, Pakistan also decided to suspend bilateral trade with India.
