Dania Shah Found Guilty in Dr. Aamir Liaquat’s Obscene Videos Case

The case was registered by the late televangelist’s daughter, Dua Aamir.

A local court in Karachi indicted Dania Shah on Thursday on charges of recording and sharing obscene video clips of her former husband, the late politician and televangelist, Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain.

District and Sessions Judge East, Mukesh Kumar heard the case, which was registered against Dania Shah on the complaint of Aalim Online host’s daughter, Dua Aamir.

The court, while reading the indictment, informed Dania that she is being accused of making a video of Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain without his consent and uploading it on social media. The court also mentioned that the video was made in a private setting and the act of sharing it on the internet is a violation of the late televangelist’s privacy.

The FIA arrested the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat’s third wife, Dania Shah, from Lodhran, Punjab, on 23 December 2022, and a judicial magistrate in Sindh sent her to jail on judicial remand subsequent to the leaked video case registered against her.

Dania pleaded not guilty to the charges and her defense counsel argued that the video in question was a “private video” and the accusations against his client were “baseless”.

Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain passed away in December 2020 in Karachi, and the case was brought forward by his daughter, who is seeking justice for her father’s privacy rights. The Aamir Liaquat case sparked debate online about the ethics of sharing private videos on social media and the potential consequences for the individuals involved.
