We all love a good love story, so when Sarfaraz Ahmed opened up about how he met his wife Khushbakht, we were all for it. While he fell for her in an instant, what did she have to say?
In his appearance on ‘Good Morning Pakistan‘ with the fam, his wife Syeda Khushbakht and son Abdullah, the Pakistani cricket captain shared the story of when he met his wife.
According to the cricketer, they met because Syeda Khushbakht’s brother played cricket with Sarfaraz Ahmed. He made things official with an engagement just two years after they met.
“I met her for the first time in 2010. We got engaged in 2012 and in 2015 we got married. Her brother used to play with me in under 12 cricket tournaments and I also knew her father because he was an umpire, so I already had a good relation with her family.”
Apparently, it was love at first sight as the sportsman fell for her innocence.
“In 2009, I went to her house to meet my friend and that was the moment when I saw her for the first time. The thing which made me fall in love with her was her innocence.”
Turns out Syeda Khushbakht comes from a family of sportsmen too. Her brother is a cricketer and her father an umpire. So when the cricketer sent a proposal, the family was familiar with the professional background. However, they never asked Syeda Khushbakht if she was okay with the proposal and went ahead to accept. However, she has no complaints.
“My family didn’t asked me about the proposal and said yes to his family. I knew who he was and I was happy with my family’s decision”, said Sarfaraz’s wife.
