Alcatel Enters Pakistan With 7 Feature and Smartphones

Alcatel recently hinted at entering the Pakistani smartphone market. Today, we can confirm that the company is officially entering Pakistan by launching 7 new smartphones and feature phones.

The company sells its mobile phones in most of the international markets. It shipped 80 million units (including feature phones, smartphones and other products)  last year, which is the fourth highest in the world.

Alcatel (mobile phone brand) is owned by TCL Corporation, a Chinese electronics company. The brand Alcatel, is synonymous with old tech giants like Siemens, Nokia and Motorola. With such a long history in mobile device development, Alcatel has all the experience it needs to manufacture high quality phones.

Alcatel is internationally known for its low cost but high quality phones. While Pakistani consumers have got plenty of choice in the entry level segment, low cost phones with superior quality is not something any of the current retailers have offered in Pakistan. Therefore, the company will definitely aim to gather some market share from the low-end and midrange segment.

It won’t be wrong to say Alcatel has entered the Pakistani market to compete at both, the entry level and midrange level. Pakistan is an emerging market as far as smartphones sales are concerned, one of the major reasons why new companies are entering the market. With a new entrant in the market, Pakistan’s mobile consumers might finally get the price-specs combo missing from the current market.
