Mobilink Hires Sohaib Mustafa of Telenor for its PR Department

Mobilink has snatched Sohaib Mustafa from Telenor Pakistan for its Public Relation and CSR functions, we have confirmed with sources.

Sohaib had been working for Telenor Pakistan’s PR department for last five years to manage media relations.

Sohaib Mustafa brings expertise with him in communications strategy, corporate media strategy and execution, crisis communications, media training,
conventional and digital media relations.

Telenor Pakistan, which is long looking for permanent head for its communication department, is currently facing issues in retaining employees. Telenor, earlier this year lost Anjum Rahman, director PR, to World Bank.

Mobilink, on other hands, had hinted to strengthen its PR wing when Omar Manzoor moved back to head the department in September 2012. Omar was specifically asked by the top management to enhance company’s image and to strengthen media relations at a time when whole industry was getting negative press.

Efforts made by relations team of Mobilink, to neutralize negative coverage, are apparently successful. We have heard that Mobilink is also gathering industry on a table to streamline industry related issues including the tax dispute.
