Sale of New SIMs Banned in KPK

After banning MNP in Pakistan and taking other measures for controlling the sale of new SIMs at retailers’ shops, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority issued directive to ban the sale of any new SIM in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported Dawn News.

The ban will result into a restriction on sale of mobile phone SIMs at all company and franchise outlets.

Paper said that orders were by PTA on direction of Interior Ministry.

It is said that ban on new SIMs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was imposed due to excessive use of illegal SIMs in most terrorist activities in the province.
