Register Your Startup for Shepherd’s Pie 2016 Before 9th April

These past three years have seen the Pakistani tech industry at its best. With the rise of startups, entrepreneurship, incubators and investors, things now look quite hopeful for the young and talented of this country. In fact, the interest shown by veteran IT professionals in building raw entrepreneurial talent through incubation centers and startup events has a host of youngsters motivated and eager to represent ideas that could potentially change the socio-economic landscape of Pakistan.

One such event is the Shepherd’s Pie, an initiative of Jumpstart, one of the most renowned incubators of the country. Following the theme of Shark Tank and Dragon Dens, an incubation model that gives a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to show their business plan or prototype to a host of panel judges who are actually veteran investors. Based on the strength of the plan, the contestants can even secure on-the-spot investment from investors.

About the Event

The Shepherd’s Pie is year-long event divided into two seasons along with one local finale and one international competition. In the first cycle of investments, startups from all over the country will be screened. In Season 2, three startups each from the four major cities of Pakistan (Peshawar, Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore) will be selected for a final round of competition.

Finally, seven out of the twelve will be selected for the LaunchPad7 incubation and get equity-based seed funding to (worth Rs. 750,000) for one whole year with free space and constant mentorship.

In the grand international competition, one finalist will be selected to represent Pakistan at SeedStars World Event  and compete with 50 Startups from 50 different countries to win over $500,000 in investment.

For its first season incubation cycle in 2015, the Pakistani medical startup DoctHERs was selected for SeedStar Summit, representing Pakistan in Switzerland.

How To Register?

Register your startup today (9th – April is the last date) and send in your pitch with complete business plans and prototypes. City wise selection will be held from May – November, starting from Peshawar in May, September in Karachi, November in Lahore and the final event being held in Islamabad.
