NTC and DHAI to Bring Voice and Broadband Services to DHA Islamabad and Rawalpindi

An agreement was signed between National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) and Defence Housing Authority Islamabad-Rawalpindi (DHAI-R) for the provision of triple play telecommunication and (CATV) Digital services for the residents of Defense Housing Authority Islamabad-Rawalpindi. Under the agreement, NTC will extend its telecom services to DHA Islamabad & Rawalpindi. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Viqar Rashid Khan, Chairman NTC & Brig Qaisar Shahzad, TBt, Administrator DHAI-R. The agreement was signed by Mr. Miraj Gul, DG (Technical) NTC and Lt. Col (R) Farrukh Nawaz, CEO DHA Teleman on behalf of their respective organizations.

Adding his views about the NTC and Defense Housing Authority Islamabad-Rawalpindi. partnership, Brig ® Viqar Rashid Khan, Chairman, NTC, stated that, “This agreement is also one of those steps which will make us reach our customer through state of the art GPON network (FTTH) which will not only provide unmatched conventional voice & data service rather it will enable us to offer Video Phone as well.”

Chairman NTC expressed that NTC has been given official mandate to provide ICT services to Armed Forces, Defence Projects, Federal/Provincial Government or such other Government agencies institutions as the Federal Government may determine. He further added that after signing the agreement NTC will be able to provide latest Fiber based telecom services to its subscribers residing in Defense Housing Authority Islamabad-Rawalpindi on affordable rates.
