After a break of almost three years, Startup Weekend is finally coming back to Peshawar.
It will be held on 22-24th September 2017 at Basecamp Peshawar.
It will be a 54 hour weekend where talented students, designers, developers, entrepreneurs and marketers will gather under one roof to collaborate and transform ideas into startups. Young entrepreneurs would get the opportunity to showcase and pitch their ideas in-front of industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs.
Peshawar 2.0 organized the first edition of Startup Weekend Peshawar in December 2013. It was one of the first startup or tech events in the city, where individuals from various disciplines and professions came together to bring ideas to life.
There are a number of successful startups and entrepreneurs who came out of Startup Weekend Peshawar. In fact, a majority of the startups and entrepreneurs who are currently active in Peshawar’s startup ecosystem, attended Startup Weekend Peshawar back in 2013.
This goes on to show how important its role was in spurring a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation and developing a healthy startup pipeline in Peshawar. It also put Peshawar on the global map for technology, entrepreneurship and startups.
Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.
All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers.
Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders, judges and investors with another opportunity for critical feedback.
Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups.
