An inter-city cricket competition has kicked off in Muzaffarabad and for the first time in history of Azad Kashmir it will be telecasted live on TV.
Jazz Rising Stars T20 tournament formally started off with a colorful opening ceremony which was attended by PM Azad Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan, who also received a bat as a token of appreciation by the management.
Shahbaz Maqsood and Fawad Rana, Director Marketing Jazz and Owner of Lahore Qalandars respectively, were present at the occasion along with renowned journalist Hamid Mir.
A huge number of cricket enthusiasts turned up towards the stadium to show their support for the local talent.
Tournament Details
There are two groups, A and B, in the tournament.
- Group A: Muzaffarabad, Rawalpinid, Sargodha and Gujranwala.
- Group B: Bahawalpur, Layyah, Faisalabad and Lahore.
As many as 6 matches will be played in Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium, AJK. After that the rest of the tournament will be played in Lahore.
Pool-B’s matches will start in Lahore from October 3. However, the qualified teams will play the semi-final on October 6 and 7, while the final will be played on October 8 in Lahore.
