Suzuki Motors is the leading auto manufacturer in Pakistan, yet it does not conform to the United Nations’ motor vehicle safety regulations.
The non-conformity is limited to Pakistan only, as the company is complying with the standards in its parent country as well as in other regions.
The same behavior has been manifested by the other international automobile manufacturers – Honda and Toyota. However, Suzuki has failed to comply with even a single regulation, according to the latest report.
In fact, the company produces 5-star cars for the European and South-east Asian markets while in Pakistan, it has been producing the same 0-star safety standard model of Mehran for 27 years.
As compared to Suzuki, imported vehicles from Korea, Japan, Middle East, and Europe are produced with significantly superior safety standards.

yeh sary Safety Standards minus kar k bhi itna mehanga baichtay hain.
somehow this c|-||_|T!a awam never knows what is right for them, and car companies using their b|_|//D like a B!iTC|-|
Some of the stats are wrong.
Civic in Pakistan does have electronic stability control. (ESC) they call it with different name: VSC – Vehicle Stability Control.
Corolla Altis also have it and they also call it VSC – Vehicle Stability Control.
But they should make two air bags, seat belts for all passenger (with pre-tensioner ),ABS and ESC mandatory for even the cheapest car.
Also, the most important safety aspect of the car is the ability of the car body to manage the crash.
If the car body cannot handle that well then no other safety thing will help in serious crash. The safety stars you see in EuroNcap have significant points for car body crash worthiness.
The body crash worthiness comes from great crumple zones at the front and back. Rigid passenger cage and great side protection.
Crash rating of less than 4 stars (EuroNcap) should not be allowed in the country.
Pakistan should also get its own version of Ncap just like Malaysia has (Asean Ncap for the whole region. )
May be the sub continent can have joint Ncap.
Na Pak Suzuki in the news again
sharam inko magar nahi ati :)
O Bhai, yahan PIA ke jahaz kharab breaks ke saath land kiye jaa sakte hain to Suzuki ki cars safety ke baghair kyu nahi chal saktin? (Ref: PIA ATR crash landing at Panjgur)
Pakistan mein sirf insaan ki jaan sasti hai.
Mehran ke doors mein to internal safety steel bar bhi nahi hoti, Seat belt, air bags etc toe dour ki baat hai…
Why are you clubbing together Swift and Mehran? They are 2 different cars.
