Sunil Narine to Miss PSL’s Opening Matches Due to Injury

Quetta Gladiators have been handed a huge blow before the start of Pakistan Super League (PSL) fourth edition as Sunil Narine has been ruled out for opening matches due to injury.

The bowler turned all-rounder will be sidelined due to a finger injury and will join the team after he has recovered completely, the PSL management said.

The absence of Narine has given Somerest’s leg-spinner Max Waller an opportunity to showcase his worth.

The news was confirmed by Quetta Gladiator’s coach, Moin Khan, who said:

Narine’s absence in the first part of the league will be a blow for us and we are looking forward to his speedy recovery.

Moin further stated that Narine is a key member of the team as his batting at the top of the order will be thoroughly missed in the opening matches.

Narine is a big player and his replacement was a difficult task for us. We hope that Waller adds some value to our performance.

The PSL’s fourth edition is right around the corned and will kick off on 14th of February as reigning champions Islamabad United take on Lahore Qalandars following the opening ceremony.
