The director of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), Professor Dr. Adibul Hasan Rizvi, has received the honorary membership of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS).
Professor Adib is the first Pakistani surgeon to receive this prestigious honor at a ceremony held in Karachi on Tuesday evening.
The visiting secretary-designate of BAUS Dr. Asif Munir conferred the prestigious membership certificate to Dr. Rizvi.
In his citation, Dr. Asif appreciated Dr. Adeeb Rizvi’s services over the past several decades.
He, being a urologist himself, spoke highly of Prof Rizvi’s vision, dedication and commitment to mitigate the plight of the ailing people in Pakistan – and said we all should follow his vision and philosophy.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rizvi urged that there should be more academic and professional cooperation between the British medical institutions and SIUT.
Professor Adib proposed to establish a SIUT-BAUS exchange programme for the transfer of technology and the flow of information between the two institutions.
