In a post-match interview after registering a win over Lahore Qalandars, Shahid Afridi said that the youngsters are getting into the national team far to quickly.
Responding to a question about unearthing talented youngsters in Pakistan Super League (PSL) fourth edition, Afridi said:
I didn’t see anything in batting but there were some bowlers. However, we are giving them a chance for the Pakistan team too quickly.
Explaining further, Afridi said that these youngsters should be promoted up the order and should join the national team after touring with Pakistan-A team as well.
Take some time, keep an eye on them. Make them play some tours of the A team, take them to the academies. Don’t make things easy, let them work hard to wear Pakistan’s cap.
Fan favorite Boom Boom took time out to thank the international stars who joined the PSL franchises in Pakistan.
The name of these international players will be in the history book, because it was their support which led to international cricket returning.
Speaking about his injuries and fitness, Afridi said:
I need to work out my knee. BPL was great but the pain increased during the PSL because of which I think I struggled. I have time to cover in the future.
I am 70-75 percent fit. I have three months off and don’t have to play any cricket. I will try my level-best to return to full match fitness.
