Iqbal advised examining all aspects of the issue of the price hike, ordering all culprits to be brought to justice. The NAB spokesperson said that an abrupt increase of up to 300 percent in the drugs’ price has rendered the essential medicines out of the reach of the common man.

Meanwhile, the federal cabinet has decided to take additional profit from companies that increased the prices of the medicines and submit it to Bait-ul-Mal.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan, said that the pharmaceutical companies manipulated the drug policy and took undue advantage of the relief.
