Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman claims that he is aware that fans are unhappy with his recent performances.
In the past 12 months, Fakhar has scored only 50 runs in 8 T20I matches at an average of 6.25 with the highest score of 15 runs.
Speaking to a news media outlet, Fakhar said:
The feeling of winning matches for your country is something else and you make the fans happy. So, they do get disappointed when I am not fulfilling my role in the team.
He further claimed that he remains confident in his ability to impress the selectors and once again make room for himself in the final squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Experts believe that Fakhar’s deteriorating form is a direct result of management. Likes of Ramiz Raja claim that the management needs to allow Fakhar to play his natural game rather than take a defensive approach to save wickets.
Pakistan’s T20 squad is undergoing a lot of changes and it remains to be seen who will make the final cut for the World Cup in 2020.
