Pakistan Found an Unlikely Batting Hero in Yasir Shah

After being unable to breakthrough Babar Azam’s defense, Australia focused on batsmen on the other end and found great success in the first innings of the 2nd Test match.

Babar Azam quietly saw Shan Masood, Asad Shafiq, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Rizwan return to the pavilion while he remained helpless on the other end.

Struggling at 89 for 6, Yasir Shah stepped in. His arrival brought smiles on the faces of Aussies as they only had to dismiss the tailenders to stamp their authority on the match.

However, their hopes were ruined by a masterclass by Yasir Shah, becoming only the ninth Pakistan to score a century at number 8 position.

Yasir’s innings of 113-runs included 13 boundaries as he faced 213 deliveries. He was eventually dismissed by Pat Cummins as Pakistan finished the innings at 302 all out.

Following his innings, his name was added to the board of honor at the Adelaide.
