The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Misbah-ul-Haq as the national cricket team’s head coach and selection committee head.
Following that, it was also revealed that PCB also handed the unofficial duties of batting coaching to Misbah-ul-Haq as well.
Yesterday, the Islamabad United unveiled Misbah-ul-Haq as their new head coach for the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) upcoming 5th edition.
The decision to allow Misbah-ul-Haq these roles has brought a lot of negative press for the PCB and rightly so.
Speaking about the matter, Javed Miandad said:
Notifying Misbah-ul-Haq with all four responsibilities is not a wise decision. It requires four different minds to do four different jobs.
In addition to that, former Pakistan captain Moin Khan also opposed the idea of Misbah’s appointment as Islamabad United head coach.
Everyone can understand that would be conflict of interest, simply. The PCB must make sure that the way they have stopped other coaches from taking PSL roles, they should act here as well to avoid conflict of interest. The policy is applied uniformly on everyone.
