Pakistan Rangers to Get Rs. 300 Million for a Special Force on GHQ’s Recommendation

On the recommendation of the Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ), the Economic Coordination Committee has approved Rs 300 million for Pakistan Rangers to launch a special force for the security of the recently opened Kartarpur Corridor.

The Rs 300 million funds will be allocated under the technical supplementary grant, enabling the paramilitary law enforcement organization to raise a special wing.

The proposal sent by the Ministry of Interior was approved by the federal government on Thursday during a meeting chaired by Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance & Revenue, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.

To further rationalize the cost of the special force, a three-member committee, including the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms and Austerity, Ishrat Husain, a representative of the Interior Ministry and Finance Secretary will look into the details of the proposal.
