Airport Staff is Allegedly Using Coronavirus Outbreak to Make Money

As per the measures enforced by the health ministry, health officials at all airports are required to assess every passenger using thermal scanners.

Any person exhibiting symptoms of Coronavirus such as flu, fever, cough or high temperature is immediately shifted to isolation facilities at the airports.

So far, the medical staff at all airports seems to be doing their job the right way as only a handful of cases of the disease transmitted through virus hit countries have been confirmed in the country.

However, health officials deployed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi are reportedly using this opportunity to make illegal gains.

According to reports, medical officials at the airport have been coercing passengers, who have no symptoms of the disease whatsoever, to either pay bribe or get ready to be quarantined.

Some passengers have also revealed that the medical staff even allowed them to leave the airport without screening them for COVID-19.

Not just that, the medical staff deployed within the quarantine wards of the airport is allegedly discharging suspected Coronavirus patients before the completion of their 2-week isolation period in exchange for some money.

The health ministry has taken notice of the issue and directed intelligence agencies to closely monitor the deployed staff not only at Karachi airport but all other airports as well.

The agencies have been ordered to ensure every passenger is allowed to step outside the airports only after they get screened for Coronavirus symptoms and complete the required isolation period.
