Oppo has been the leader of charging technology in smartphones for a while now. The Oppo Reno Ace was the first to bring the world’s fastest charging technology to the market and now a new Reno device is coming soon to set a new record.
The Chinese phone maker has showcased the Reno Ace Infinity which will feature a new FreeVOOC air-recharging technology, which, as the name suggests, will be able to charge the device over the air. A demonstration video from Oppo explains the technology briefly.
There is a FreeVOOC coil embedded at the top right corner of the device that receives charge from the wireless charger over the air. It comprises an absorption layer, a conversion layer, and a conductive material that is able to keep the device charged up indefinitely.
Oppo is calling it the “future of wireless charging technology” but hasn’t revealed a release date for it yet. However, the timing of this announcement couldn’t be more suspicious as it surfaced right on 1st April, so we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt.
