Big Blow for Pakistan Team As 3 Players Test Positive for COVID-19

Just a week before Pakistan cricket team’s departure to England, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has conducted the COVID-19  tests of all the 29 players.

While the results of all cricketers are not out yet, young stars including Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan have all tested positive. None of the COVID-19 positive cricketers have shown any symptoms of the disease. The PCB has directed the cricketers to undergo self-isolation and the cricketing fraternity is wishing for their speedy recovery.

Imad Wasim and Usman Shinwari’s reports came out negative and they will be reporting to the National Cricket Academy on 25 June.

According to credible reports, the coronavirus test of some Karachi and Lahore-based cricketers will be out today. The team is set to depart for England on 28 June for their 3-match Test series and as many T20Is in August-September. The team will undergo a 14-day quarantine period after landing in the UK followed by a training camp.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is reportedly in talks with the England Cricket Board (ECB) to bring forward the arrival date to give more time to the cricketers to acclimatize to the conditions.
