Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) has fixed a standardized rate for the RT-PCR test for COVID-19 diagnosis.
According to the official notification, CEO IHRA, Dr. Syed Ali Naqvi, has issued the directives in the light of a decision taken earlier at the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC). The order, which comes into effect immediately, has been enacted under the Islamabad Healthcare Regulation Act, 2018.
All private hospitals, laboratories, and collection centers falling under the jurisdiction of IHRA will now conduct RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 diagnosis at the following rates:
- Rs. 5,500 using Chinese kit
- Rs. 6,500 using Roche/Abbot kit
Here is the official notification.
Moreover, IHRA has directed its inspection teams to ensure compliance with the latest order.
Any private hospital, laboratory, and collection center found in violation of the IHRA’s order will face hefty fines, deregistration, sealing of the facility, and imprisonment as prescribed under the Islamabad Healthcare Regulation Act 2018.
