Entire Pakistan Gets Upset When Fawad Alam is Not Selected: Former Cricketer

Former Test cricketer, Mudassar Nazar, has said that everyone wants to see Fawad Alam play in the longest format, saying his exclusion upsets the entire nation.

Talking about Misbah-ul-Haq as a chief selector, the 64-year-old said that he will be under pressure if he doesn’t play Fawad Alam.

You can only pick 11 players in the team. Not only Karachi but the entire Pakistan gets upset when Fawad Alam is not selected. He has performed well in domestic cricket for a long time, so if you don’t play him and then lose the game, pressure is bound to get to you.

Fawad last played a Test match more than 10 years ago, whereas his last limited-overs game was back in 2015.

Mudassar Nazar further said that Misbah has put himself in a difficult position by taking multiple roles with the PCB, saying he will have to let go of one of the positions. He said that although batting will be a challenging task, a strong slip cordon will be a plus point for Pakistan.

Pitches will be completely fresh as no cricket has taken place in England this season. If there is rain around August, which usually happens during the end of the summer, then batting will be difficult. So Pakistan batting is bound to struggle in England. Plus, they haven’t played top level cricket for a long time.

Mudassar said he is confident that Babar will be successful on the tour, adding that it is the last frontier for him to conquer.
