Another Record: Pakistan Tops the List of Bowling Out Oppositions in T20Is

Pakistan’s strength has always been their bowling. The Men in Green have been renowned in the cricketing fraternity for producing top-class bowlers. While some teams have been revered for their ability to chase down totals, Pakistanis have been known to defend targets.

These Players Have Won the Most T20 Titles in Their Career

Batting wins you matches, but bowling wins you tournaments, experts say and that is the case with Pakistan. Pakistan’s all three major tournament victories i.e. 1992 Cricket World Cup, 2009 World T20, and 2017 ICC Champions Trophy were won based on brilliant bowling displays throughout the campaigns.

The likes of Umar Gul, Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Hafeez have been some of the most successful bowlers in the T20 format and the current crop of players looks set to continue their legacy.

Shaheen Afridi is fast becoming one of the most dangerous bowlers in the world. Add to that the smartness of Imad Wasim, the variety and guile of Usman Qadir and Shadab Khan, and the experience of Wahab Riaz, it looks like a fearsome unit.

This is all backed by the fact that Pakistan have bowled out opponents most often in T20I cricket. The Men in Green have bowled out their opponents 31 times while no other team has achieved the feat more than 22 times. The strength of Pakistan’s bowling has been to pick up wickets, rather than containing runs.

Here are the top 5 teams in this regard:

Team Matches All Out
Pakistan 157 31
Australia 128 22
New Zealand 131 22
West Indies 124 21
Sri Lanka 128 21

They call me the Sports Guy!

  • I am crazy about cricket as much as the next guy, but aren’t there any other sports which we are good at and that needs to be covered in this blog?

    • We do cover other sports, however, with PSL playoffs coming up, our focus is on cricket these days. Your suggestion is noted.

  • Well I don’t think PCB is sincere with the team PCB should hire an experienced coaching staff. We’re struggling against bottom ranked teams like Zimbabwe and a clean sweep by Sri Lanka at home last year. How will you compete against top ranked teams? Fielding, batting and bowling all the departments are not going good.
