Former leg spinner, Danish Kaneria, has claimed that Usman Qadir can be a good option in Test cricket for Pakistan. Usman Qadir made his T20I debut in the recently concluded series against Zimbabwe, impressing everyone throughout the series with his variety and guile.

Usman Qadir bagged the man of the series award for his magnificent bowling in the series, picking up 8 wickets in three matches at an average of 7.50 and an economy rate of 5.45.
Usman Qadir, son of late Abdul Qadir, has been part of the national team set up for the last few months and has the full support of the management who have invested time in the young leg spinner.
Danish Kaneria has suggested that Pakistan should try Qadir in the Test matches, adding that he can be the long-term replacement for Yasir Shah. Shah has been Pakistan’s mainstay in the Test lineup ever since his debut in 2014, however, he’s already 34-years-old.

Usman Qadir, on the other hand, is 27 years old and is entering the prime years of his career. If he manages to perform consistently, he can easily replace Yasir Shah after Shadab Khan’s average performances in the longest format.
Kaneria also praised middle-order batsman, Haider Ali, for a great start to his international career. According to Kaneria, Haider has cemented his place in the T20 side thanks to his strong showing in the recent matches.
