Fakhar Zaman is Now a Lieutenant in Pakistan Navy

Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has been awarded an honorary rank of lieutenant by the Pakistan Navy. Fakhar served in the Pakistan Navy before making his debut for the national team.

Fakhar was presented with the award by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi, in a ceremony held by Pakistan Navy. Fakhar’s family and senior military and civilian officials attended the event. Fakhar has been awarded an honorary rank by the Pakistan Navy for his outstanding performances for the nation on the field of cricket and his contributions to the Pakistan Navy.

Chief of Naval Staff congratulated Fakhar for his outstanding achievements and appreciated his services to Pakistan Navy. He also said that the Pakistan Navy will keep on promoting sports in the country and will keep supporting players.

Fakhar joined Pakistan Navy in 2007 and left his service in 2013 to pursue his dream of representing Pakistan in cricket at the highest level. He made his debut for the national team in 2017 after impressive performances in the domestic circuit.

He became a national hero when he scored a century against arch-rivals India in the final of the Champions Trophy, helping Pakistan win the match by 158 runs to lift their first-ever ICC Champions Trophy. Fakhar Zaman is also the fastest batsman to reach 1,000 runs in world cricket, taking just 18 innings to achieve the feat.
