Honor V40’s Price Leaks Before Launch

Honor is gearing up to launch its first handset after separating from its ex-parent company Huawei. News regarding the upcoming Honor V40 started making rounds on the internet a few months ago and since then plenty of leaks and rumors have come our way.

The most recent leak reveals that the base variant of the handset with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB onboard storage, will cost $615. This was confirmed through a leaked phone vendor inventory listing as well as from a whiteboard announcement in a Huawei store in China.

Apart from this, Honor also revealed that the handset will come with GPU Turbo X for gaming. However, fine details regarding this feature were left out.

According to previous leaks, the impending Honor smartphone looks like a rebranded or tweaked version of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. The smartphone will most likely come with a 6.72-inch OLED screen with extreme curves on the sides, a punch-hole selfie camera, FHD+ resolution, and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

In terms of other specifications, the handset is expected to be powered by  Dimensity 1000+ chipset and will come with a quad-camera setup with a 50MP primary shooter. The phone will support 66W wired and 55W wireless charging.

Initially, the smartphone was planned to launch on 4th January, but just a day before the event, the launch was pushed forward to 22nd January.
