Punjab Police Launches Karobar Aitemad App to Trace Criminal Records of Employees And Tenants

Punjab Police has launched the ‘Karobar Aitemad App’ to help people trace criminal records attached to the Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) of their employees and tenants in order to make informed decisions about keeping them.

As per the law, whenever a citizen hires an employee or domestic help or keeps a tenant, they are bound to register them with the police so that the police have information about the people residing and working in an area.

The new application enables employers and landlords to register their employees and tenants with ease, in addition to allowing the tracing of their criminal records.

DIG Operations Punjab, Sohail Sukhera, who also serves as the Punjab Police Information Officer (PPIO), told the media that entering the CNIC number of a person into the application results in the rapid displaying of information about their criminal record.

If the person has any criminal record or has an inquiry/case pending against him/her anywhere across the province, he/she will soon be identified using this app.
