PCB Announces Stricter Gameplay Rules for Remaining PSL Matches

The coronavirus outbreak within the bio-secure bubble of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises has forced the organizers to take drastic measures.

While addressing a press conference in Karachi, Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Director Media and Communications, Sami-ul-Hassan Burni, said that it is the responsibility of the board to protect the reputation of the event.

We are making every effort in this regard, some additional steps are also being taken.

Additional Protective Measures

Sami maintained that more than 100 people involved in the broadcasting crew have also been tested, adding that the ground staff of the National Stadium will wear gloves from now on.  He said that the ball going into the crowd will not be used again in the field.

Burni said that life inside a bio-bubble is very difficult and that sports events all over the world are facing similar situations.

We are also helping and guiding the franchises in every possible way to maintain the enthusiasm and quality of the game and Complete in the same way.

Franchise Owners

To uphold the image of the event, the PSL management has suggested keeping the franchise owners away from the teams for the remaining matches of the PSL 6.

The idea was floated during a virtual meeting of PCB and PSL team owners held on Tuesday afternoon. As per reports, five out of six teams agreed but Karachi Kings requested more time to reply, therefore the decision could not be imposed immediately.
