The headquarters of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been shut down due to high-ranking official testing positive for COVID-19, just days after the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) was postponed due to the virus.
PCB has decided to close down the office as a precautionary measure, and the employees have been asked to work from home.

The identity of the official has not been revealed by the PCB, but it is understood that he is a highly influential individual within the PCB. The staff has been advised to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and isolate at home for the rest of the week.
According to sources, the official had not visited Karachi for PSL 6 and was present in Lahore for the duration of the tournament. However, the incident has raised a few concerns ahead of Pakistan’s tour of South Africa.
It is reported that the individual had visited the preparations camp at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) recently. The camp included the probables for the South African tour, including national and domestic players.

Few more national team players were expected to join the camp in the coming days, as PSL 6 was postponed, but PCB has decided not to include them until NHPC is cleared after testing of staff. The players present at the camp will be expected to stay in the bio-secure bubble at the NHPC from now on.
Abdullah Shafique, Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Fawad Alam, Haris Sohail, Imran Butt, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Abbas, Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan, Saud Shakeel, Tabish Khan, and Yasir Shah were among the 25 players called for the month-long camp at the NHPC.
