The captain of the national cricket team, Babar Azam, has come out in support of Sharjeel Khan over the criticism of his fitness.
Former cricketers had lambasted Chief Selector, Mohammad Wasim over the inclusion of the disgraced opener who weighs more than 110 kgs in the T20I squads for South Africa and Zimbabwe.

There is a lot of discussion on Sharjeel’s fitness. I don’t know why you guys underrate his fitness too much. I think he is a match-winner and can win us the match any day.

To a question about his fitness, the skipper quipped that Sharjeel cannot become Shadab, but he is working on his fitness and will continue working on it.
Babar did not deny the reports of rifts between the team management and the selection committee and said that someone leaked an in-house discussion that gave hype to this issue on media.
