Microsoft Releases Final Windows 10 Build for May 2021 Update

Just a few days ahead of May, Microsoft has released the final build for Windows 10 as part of its May 2021 updates. The Windows maker has confirmed that the build version 19043.928 for the 21H1 updates will be the final one available for direct download.

Microsoft said in a blog post:

We are preparing the Windows 10 May 2021 Update (version 21H1) for release. We are continuing to improve the overall experience of the May 2021 Update on customers’ PCs through our usual servicing cadence.

The new update is already available for Windows Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview Channels. They can download the ISO files needed for a clean install of the May 2021 Updates on their devices right now. This version is another minor update released for those still running Windows 10 versions 2004 and 20H2.

People with Windows Insider can go through Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on “download and install 21H1” to get the latest update.

Once the update is complete, Windows Insiders will continue to get service updates through Windows Update.

Since the new update is already available to Insiders, it should not be long before it becomes publicly available. We can only hope that it will be better than the problematic April updates, but that may be too far-fetched at this point.
