Pakistan Cricket Team Gets Special Permission to Travel to the UK

Pakistan cricket team has received approval from the British government to travel to the country despite a travel ban enlisted by the government. Pakistan is one of the few countries on the UK’s red list due to the Covid-19 crisis.

The team will be allowed to travel to the country and will be expected to adhere to the Covid-19 protocols put in place by the British government.

The Men in Green will most likely travel to England in late June via a chartered flight due to the travel restrictions. The touring party will be required to spend a set number of days in quarantine upon their arrival to the country.

Pakistan will face England in a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series, scheduled to begin from 8 July. Here’s the full schedule of the tour:

Elsewhere, Indian cricket team has also been granted special permission by the British government to travel to the country for their World Test Championship final against New Zealand, scheduled to be played on 18 June at Ageas Bowl, Southampton. India has been placed on UK’s red list for the same reason.
