The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet today (Monday) in Quetta for the sighting of the Muharram-ul-Haram crescent, according to a notification from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Committee Chairman, Moulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, will preside over the meeting that will be held after Asr prayers at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the provincial capital.

“The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for sighting the crescent of Muharram-ul-Haram 1334 AH will be held in the evening of Monday 9 August 2021 (corresponding 29th Zil Hajj 1442 AH) at Deputy Commissioner Office, Quetta,” the notification read.
Other zonal and district committees will also meet simultaneously at their respective headquarters, the notification stated, adding that Islamabad’s zonal committee will hold a meeting at the office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
