WhatsApp Will Soon Work on iPads and Other Tablets

WhatsApp is working to add multi-device support to the app soon. This means that you will no longer need your phone as the “main” device for an account if you need to sign in elsewhere.

Hence, it is possible that other devices such as iPads will get a fully native WhatsApp app soon.

WABetainfo is a popular tech blog that uncovers upcoming WhatsApp features before they are announced. The blog just reported on Twitter that both Android and Apple tablets will be able to use WhatsApp as “linked devices” for the first time.

A follow-up tweet says that tablets will soon get a native app for WhatsApp it and it will run independently without your phone.

There is no word on a launch date for this feature, but WABetaInfo says that it is under development and should become available with a future update. If you already have WhatsApp for iOS beta, you will automatically get the iPad version as well as soon as the update is released.

Since WhatsApp has already been beta testing multi-device support for a while, it should not be long before a stable update is released.
