Ramiz Raja Reveals How IPL Has Changed Mentality of Cricketers [Video]

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) newly elected chairman, Ramiz Raja, believes that the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) has affected the mentality of top international players as they prefer to take part in franchise cricket instead of playing for their countries.

Ramiz talked about “the elephant within the room that’s the Indian Premier League” during his interview with famous journalist, Kashif Abbasi on ARY News.

The 59-year old said that money has been a huge factor in the shift of the priorities of the players and international cricket has suffered because of it. Ramiz added that Australian cricket particularly has suffered because of it as they have changed their DNA because of money.

He said that the Australian cricket team has lost its grit and passion as they want to have a good relationship with the Indian cricket board (BCCI) and IPL. “Australian players have modified their DNA because of money and they play happily against India,” he added.

Ramiz also raised question marks on New Zealand and England’s decision to back out from their tour of Pakistan. He said that every cricket board is happy to send their players to Pakistan to take part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) but when it comes to their national teams it is a different story altogether.
