Pakistani Teenage Sensation Triumphs at Hong Kong Junior Squash Championship

Pakistan’s Huzaifa Shahid has clinched the Under-13 title at the Hong Kong Junior Squash Championship where he defeated Hong Kong’s Wang Ho-kiu.

Huzaifa came up with a stellar performance, winning with convincing score lines of 11-6, 11-8, and 11-4 in the final match of the tournament.

Earlier in the campaign, Shahid showcased his prowess in the semi-finals by defeating Malaysia’s second-seeded Ruthiran Vidhurran with scores of 11-7, 11-6, and 11-5.

His quarter-final match against China’s Liu Yuanxi was equally impressive, as he triumphed with a straight-game win of 11-3, 11-5, and 11-5.

He claimed the Under-13 title at the Australian Junior Open, earlier this year and previously won the Borneo Junior Open in Malaysia.

In addition to this, he was the silver medalist in the U13 category at the Asian Junior Squash Championship held in June.

Meanwhile, in Australia, Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal is making headlines at the Bega Open Squash. Nasir reached the final after a thrilling semi-final against Switzerland’s Robin Gadola, where he emerged victorious with a 3-1 win.

Despite losing the second game, Nasir dominated the next two games, securing the match with scores of 6-11, 11-4, 2-11, and 3-11.

Nasir Iqbal’s stellar performance this year has seen him climb the PSA rankings, with three tournament victories in Australia already under his belt.

The Bega Open, boasting a prize fund of $12,000, is ongoing in New South Wales, with Nasir defeating second-seed Matthew Lai from Hong Kong in the final.
