Renowned Pakistani singer and songwriter Ali Zafar has announced a reward of one million rupees for Arshad Nadeem, who clinched the gold medal in javelin at the Paris Olympics 2024, setting a new world record with a stunning 92.97-meter throw. This historic achievement secured Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal in 40 years.
Ali Zafar took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to congratulate Arshad Nadeem. He tweeted,
Arshad Nadeem breaks record with 92.97 and wins gold for Pakistan! I shall be honoring him with a one million rupees reward from the Ali Zafar Foundation.
The “Teefa in Trouble” star didn’t stop at just congratulating the athlete; he also made a passionate appeal to the Government of Pakistan to give Arshad Nadeem the recognition and support he deserves. “Let’s show our heroes the celebration they deserve. I urge the Government of Pakistan and Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to welcome him like a hero and establish a sports academy in his name. If our athletes and sportsmen start getting the support they deserve, we can win 10 golds a year,” Zafar added in his message.
