Here’s What Happened at the First-Ever ProSports EA FC 24 Tournament

The weekend of 14th and 15th September was a momentous occasion for us here at ProSports. 32 players descended upon ProSports HQ in E-11 to compete in the first-ever ProSports EA FC 24 tournament. With some awe-inspiring gameplay on show and some amazing support from our sponsors namely Empower Education Consultants, Xtreme PakDel, and New Yorkers Pizza, the event was a thorough success.

With a tantalizing prize of Rs 50,000 to the winner, it was anyone’s game. The 32 players were sorted into 8 groups of 4, where the top 2 from each group would advance to the knockout stages. It was not the winner alone that would take home some cash however, with Rs 20,000 going to 2nd Place as well as Rs 10,000 to each of the losing semi-finalists.

It was ultimately group C that would provide us with the ultimate narrative. Early favourite Hamza Kazi blew through his opponents with scores of 2-0, 4-3, and a mammoth 7-2. His group stage dominance was not a flash in the pan either as he meticulously made his way through the knockouts by winning with scores of 3-1 in the round of 16, 1-0 in the quarter-finals, and 7-2 on aggregate over two legs in the semi-finals. In the final, however, fate had other plans.

The man Hamza Kazi had beaten 7-2 in the Group Stage was Muhammad Ahmed. Despite suffering this heavy defeat in the group stages, he was still able to qualify by beating his other opponents 6-0 and 4-2. He rallied in the knockouts, with wins of 2-0 in the round of 16, 2-0 in the quarter-finals, and 3-1 on aggregate across the two legs in the semi-finals. This set up a date with destiny and a chance for revenge.

Muhammad Ahmed took the first leg of the final 1-0. In the second leg, Hamza Kazi opened the scoring, making it 1-1 on aggregate. Not to be denied the victory, Muhammad Ahmed scored once more thereafter to make the score 2-1 overall and that is how he ended up as your first ProSports EA FC 24 Champion.

He secured not only the trophy and the winner’s cash prize but also the ultimate revenge in the end.
